We've managed to track down a few bugs this past week.

1. IE6 uploads now work. This wasn't really a bug, just something we never planned on supporting. It's an outdated browser that really limits the amount of interesting design elements we can use. We are now fully tested in IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Safari, Mac Safari versions and Mac Firefox versions. If you are using Google Chrome or Opera and notice some strangeness, please let me know.

2. Sessions were timing out on uploads causing you to get logged out while uploading. Since the addition of the new uploader I never took into account that uploading 50 1+ meg files might take some people longer than their session duration. This is fixed now. Upload all your photos in one step now.

If anyone knows of anything else that isn't working just let us know. Thanks

Good news for those on v1 right now. Chaz and I stopped development for a couple days to add some improvements to the current site. After lots of beers I'm happy to announce some changes.

1. Faster processing times. 7 times fasters to be exact. For real. No joke. We counted in our heads while uploading.

2. Better quality. Images look awesome now thanks to some trickery.

3. You can delete photos! what? yep. Just go to the all photos link in your profile.

4. New bulk uploader. This was planned to launch for v2 but do to photobucket sucking for K we decided to see if this helped him out. You can now queue an unlimited amount of photos for upload. Check out the video below. Sneak peak of v2 too. :)

So yeah... RUCKIN v2 has been in the works off and on for a while now. We're currently looking for feature requests. Comment for anything you'd like to see.

Here's a short list of whats new today...

1. Development Blog - We suck at email... This will give us a better chance to correspond with everyone. Thanks for reading.

2. RSS - As simple as this was it took forever to get around to it. It's available today. Look for the link in the lower right.

3. Sharing - You'll see sharing on every photo page now. It wasn't really apparent how to use a photo on other forums or on facebook. Now it is! Sharing is only available after you log in. Start sharing those photos.

4. Log in change - Another simple enhancement that makes a world of difference. From now on when you log in it will take you to the last page you were on with one exception... Logins from the front page will take you to your member page.

5. Comment notification - The email you get when someone comments on your photo now links directly to the comment.

In the works...

1. Photo Management - Holy crap... have you noticed you cant delete or edit your photos. yeah...

2. Photo Grouping - You'll have the ability to group your photos into categories... (ie group rides, build, for sale, grandmas 90th)

3. Photo Hiding - Dont want to show a photo on the RUCKIN site. Mark it as private. You can still share it on forums, facebook and wherever. Good way to post for sale items that are pretty boring by themselves.

4. Comment subscribing - When you make a comment on a photo you can subscribe to get email updates when anyone else comments on the same photo.

5. Friends - add other RUCKIN members as friends to your profile

6. Favorites - add other photos as favorites to your profile

7. Photo stats - Your photo views.

8. Mobile Interface - RUCKIN formatted for your phone!

9. More gooder! - Were gonna add more gooder everywhere. Wut?

Let us know if theres anything you'd like to see.

We originally put up the WTF link of the front of the site with the intentions of some sort of FAQ page. Only problem is, we don't really know what the questions are? Here are a few off the top of my head that I know have been asked.

WTF is RUCKIN?
RUCKIN.COM is free pic hosting for the ruckus community. Upload your pics, share them on the interwebs. Post em on forums, send em in email, share them on facebook. Whatever floats your boat.

Why should I use RUCKIN instead of photobucket or flickr or blah blah blah?
We kick ass, thats why. All the others can suck it!!! Seriously though, we love the ruckus and we'll do our best to support you guys any way we can. This includes adding new features regularly and providing the best experience possible to the community.

You guys should add a forum (not really a question i guess)
NO NO NO NO NO!!!! not gonna happen. Even though we allow commenting, we will never provide the extensive knowledge that forums like totalruckus or ruckus central already provide. We're happy with our role as a photo host.

How can i add photos?
Once you join you can upload photos from your member section. You can also send pics from your mobile phone directly to RUCKIN. Technology kicks ass!

What kind of photos can I post?
Anything... As long as it involves the ruckus and is family friendly. Pics of rucks, group rides, meetups, for sale items... whatever.

What are your future plans for RUCKIN?
Glad you asked... RUCKIN v2 is currently in the works and really the point of launching this blog. We're looking for feedback from the members on things they would like to see. Check out the posts in Development if you want to see what we're up to.
